Last year, we had a 'bragging rights' competition with the Onondaga Cycling
Club to see which club could get more riders to participate in the Trek
Breast Cancer Ride, hosted by Syracuse Bicycle. With our 1,000+ membership,
it would be like the USC-SU football game. So, let's agree to work together
to shatter last year's turnout.
Last year, the club covered $5 of your entry fee. The board needs to discuss
exactly what we plan to do this year, but maybe we give either a flat fee,
or maybe a donation of $5/rider, or...
Anyway, let's agree that we will all come out and support this event by
riding and enjoying the post race activities and company!
Details are below... Questions - please contact Trish Dugan at Syracuse
Bicycle. You know how to find them!
Here are all ride details:
*Join us, Saturday, October 8th, 2011 at 10 a.m. for the 3rd Annual Syracuse
Bicycle Trek Women Breast Cancer Awareness Ride! We had over 280 riders last
year, making our ride the largest in the country. Each rider receives a
goody bag, opportunity to win great door prizes, and enjoy a post-ride party
with a fully catered lunch!
Hosted by Trek Women and Syracuse Bicycle, the BCAR aims to raise awareness
for breast cancer prevention, screening, and treatment by joining forces
with women and men of all ages and abilities to ride on the same day, at the
same time, all over the country.
Register now! The ride offers a 25-mile route on the scenic, flat roads
north of Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville and a 10-mile family
friendly route on the Erie Canal path. Fees for each are $25 and all
proceeds will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Online
registration closes October 7th, day of registration available until 9:00am.
